– a writing workshop for animal lovers and wordsmiths
In association with Pune’s very own Gouri Dange, we welcome you to come and unleash the inner writer in you. What could be more fun, coz’ as a participant, you also get to meet, play and draw inspiration and solace, all at the same time with the PetSitters team of pets. About the workshop
It’s a one of a kind writing workshop for those who want to write about thoughts, feelings and experiences with their pets and the animal world around them. Participants get to dabble with fiction as well as non-fiction. The writing exercises will cover all writing moods and styles, from the funny and playful to the serious and sentimental. A chance opportunity to get you to write your heart out, about every creature that has touched your life.
Unleash the writer in you with a variety of writing exercises that will cover:
The comic and the entertaining
Character word-sketches
The animal-human bond
Animal activism writing
Biographies, blogs and diaries
Working with poems, limericks, haikus, short-stories, novel structures, essays, editorials, the workshop will provide tools to budding as well as seasoned writers to express themselves about the joys, fears, heartbreak and responsibilities of being an animal lover.

The workshop is meant for ages 16 and above – age no bar!(A separate workshop for younger people will be announced shortly)

About Gouri Dange
The workshop will be conducted by published writer, a columnist, a practising family counsellor and animal lover Gouri Dange.
Her features, articles, interviews, short stories – various works of fiction and non-fiction – have appeared regularly in leading Indian publications, on her website http://www.gouridange.com, and in a US-based magazine called India Currents. Her writings have a large informal following – readers, bloggers and editors write in regularly expressing their appreciation and delight at her style and content – which ranges from the savagely funny to the nuancedly reflective and empathetic. She regularly holds writing workshops, in which participants are guided to synthesize and transform into writing what they experience, perceive and imagine.
